How the Building Process Works

As a designer and cabinetmaker every project I tackle is custom built. I use the same process for each project and it can be broken down into 5 steps. This process is designed to be efficient, and thorough, ensuring that all details of the project have been laid out in a clear manner.

Step One:

We begin with a meeting. Most of the time this meeting will occur at the project site. During this meeting we will discuss the scope of the project. I also ask a series questions designed to help me determine your tastes. During this meeting I will also perform a site analysis as well as a detailed measure.

Step Two:

Next, I develop a preliminary design. During this time I ask that you be open to questions via either phone or email. This helps me design more precisely to your needs. This step usually takes between 1 and 5 days. There is no charge or obligation at this point.

Step Three:

The next step is our second meeting. At this point I will present my preliminary design and we will go over the details. I will present my 3D computer model and any other materials I have. I will also give a precise bid. If you would like to make changes to the design I am happy to do so at this point. I will also alter the bid as needed. This step can be done via email and a phone call if that is preferred.

Step Four:

Once we have finalized the design and agreed upon a contract, construction begins. I collect an initial deposit at this point. This process can be anywhere from a few days to 4 weeks.

Step Five:

After your project has been built the installation process begins. Installation is an exciting time; this is when the project comes to life. Installation will take between 1 day and 4 weeks. After all final adjustments are made to the installation, the project is finished and ready for you to enjoy.
